Playa Flamenca Costa Blanca - It was only after the development of the area by several Flemish property investors in the early 1970's that Playa Flamenca started to be a well known resort. Until then it was merely a stretch of attractive but featureless shoreline on the Southern Costa Blanca.

Boasting its renewed walkway and beachfront, Playa Flamenca is amongst the most prestigious destinations along this piece of the Costa Blanca coast. It is around halfway along the cliff walkway which runs from the bustling town of Torrevieja to Dehesa de Campoamor, making it simple to wander to the magnificent resorts of Punta Prima, Cabo Roig and La Zenia.

The well known Playa Flamenca street market takes place weekly on a Saturday and buyers travel from miles around to this vibrant and exciting street market. Situated on the principal street of Playa Flamenca, beyond the Mercadona supermarket, it runs for approximately one kilometre and though it does get pretty hectic, the wide road it is held on provides plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the exercise.  The huge selection of products available to buy on the Playa Flamenca street market is incredible, you can purchase flowers, shoes, clothes, toys and nuts, as well as stock up on locally grown, fresh fruit and vegetables or fresh breads prepared on the day. You'll feel hungry as you pass the spit-roast chicken van, so you will want to get a yummy garlic flavoured chicken, or you might watch a traditional paella being prepared in front of you and try some for your dinner.

Many of the retail outlets, drinking places and cafes in Playa Flamenca are situated either in Via Park II or the Flamenca Beach commercial center. Here there is a big selection of dining establishments presenting food from all over the world, also you will find everything you need with regards to recreation and entertainment, for instance you might play bingo, watch a live group, sing along to karaoke, catch up on the latest football match or merely have a drink.
